I got the image of the convergent bicycle from http://www.certec.lth.se/ak/ak_ht97/forelasn/f9/doet.html and the image of the masochist's teapot from the main IEOR 170 page http://lbs.cs.berkeley.edu:8080/wiki/index.php/Main_Page.

I wanted the poster to be as simple as possible and have something short and catchy to attract people's attention. I also wanted it to include very basic information about the best this course has to offer. It's not flashy and over-the-top, which I believe distracts from the actual content of posters.
