Description: I tried aiming at the idea of bringing something through the design cycle. So I started with the idea of brainstorming and sketching. Then I wanted to show construction of it and finally the end product. For people who look closely at the final picture, it a Disney castle displayed with 15th anniversary decorations showing that a good design can lead to great success as well. I thought the design cycle was the key concept of the class and the big hook for taking the class since it shows anyone can do it and if you dream it, you can build it. Besides, the visual aid, I had captions of the key concept of the design cycle and the class. For example, problems arise due to human factors or user issues and they lead to improvements for the next version, which is definitely seen through the Disney Parks. Finally, I chose my images and fonts because they are icons of a familiar brand that many people can relate to, a Disney Park. By building some connection or Disney interest, I aiming at getting people to look at the poster if they saw it in a hallway.
Design Patterns Used
So I tried to use the design pattern of keeping it simple and consistent by using very few words. Also tried to leverage preattentive visual aids such as color to have certain things stand out, orientation of the pictures and initial phrase, and the different size font for the varying text based on importance. In addition, I tried using the general idea of the Von Restorff effect by using something everyone knows, the Disney Castle, in a different way by showing the construction process of it.
