Design principles & design wisdoms, and human perception information taken from the following IEOR 170 class lectures: Design Principles II, and Visual Perception and Visualization Technique.
Description: In my poster, I kept things simple and limited the amount of text that I used. I made sure that the fonts that I used were easy to read. I also drew on some of the visual attributes – I used different colors, text sizes, and alignments to catch the user’s attention. This also allows for certain parts of the poster, such as the course information and the slogan “Discover Design,” to be more noticeable. I also think the heading of the poster, “Attention Engineering students:”, will catch people’s attention because it is aligned to the right, instead of to the left or centered as is typically done at the top of a poster. Also, by giving a picture related to each topic, I give the viewer a graphical idea of what the topic is about in order to increase his/her understanding.
