I designed my poster so people would notice the words "design", "innovate", and "create". In doing this they will immediately know what the class is about. I chose a bright green color and lined them up (staggered) on the right side of the paper so they would preattentively noticed the words. Also, I made IEOR 170 and REGISTER NOW in caps lock and large font so readers would know exactly what the flyer is for.

The sketch I chose because it shows a design in process. Not only is the design aesthetically pleasing but readers can identify what it is, and what it has evolved from. Also, I chose the colored side of the sketch to be on the left side of the page so the orange color wouldn't interfere with the green colors of "design", innovate", and "create".

The image was found from a Google image search of the words "design book sketch." It is drawn by Carl Liu and can be found at: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.studio469.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/carlliu.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.studio469.com/blog/category/book-tip/&h=477&w=510&sz=102&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=QSHD8-UrrlTKrM:&tbnh=123&tbnw=131&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddesign%2Bbook%2Bsketch%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

I used Adobe Photoshop CS to create the poster.
